Praia, 21 October (Inforpress) – Tourism supply prices rose by 7.5% in the third quarter of 2026, down four percentage points more than in the previous quarter, particularly as a result of higher accommodation prices.
According to the Tourism Price Index (ITI), published today by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the quarterly change was 5.2%, compared with 0.6% in the second quarter of this year and 1.3% in the same period of 2025. This reflects the effects of seasonality, particularly in the housing sector.
In the hotel, café and restaurant category, prices rose by 7.5% year on year. Of the islands studied, Boa Vista recorded the largest increase, at 8.6 per cent, followed by São Vicente (7.5 per cent), Santo Antão (7.0 per cent), Sal (6.3 per cent) and Santiago (3.0 per cent).
Vehicle rental also increased by 6.4 per cent annually, while leisure and cultural services showed no change in prices compared to the third quarter of 2025.
